Craig Manson secured second place in this prestigious event played at St. Enodoc, Craig was two shots behind the eventual winner, he actually finished second in the same event last year so let's go one better next time Craig!

Bristol and District Golf League

It's been a good year for both the first and second teams this year. The first team secured their place in the top division and the second team earned promotion by way of a second place finish in their division. Big congratulations to Wayne Neale and his team of players.

 

This week's results...

Tuesday saw the running of the Seniors' Stanley Wooton Cup, this was a greensomes stableford competition. Top of the pile was the team of Bob Anderson and Paul Williams, their 40 points pipped Glyn Ager and Paul Darling by one point. There was also a Club Stableford on Tuesday, this was won by Gary Atkinson with 40 points. Don't know if it's any coincidence but Gary has recently had some new custom fitted golf clubs and a lesson!

Wednesday's Ladies Stableford was won overall by Juliet Hagley with 36 points, second place overall and division two winner was Linda Reynolds with 35 points, and division one honours went to Merriel Horler.

 

Gloucester and Somerset PGA Matchplay

Ash had a good run all the way to the final this week. In the first round he defeated Peter Garratt, the second round saw him triumphant over his own coach George Ryall. Day two started with a victory over Cirencester head professional Ed Goodwin in the semi-final. Giuseppe Licata was his opponent for the final, unfortunately this proved to be one step too far. Well played Ash nonetheless.

Jack Roberts

Some more good news for the pro shop staff. Jack has passed his playing ability test this week and thus will be turning Pro in October and embarking on the PGA Foundation Degree. Well done Jack and all the best for the future.
