Competition news

Mid-week Medal

Tuesday's Mid-week Medal saw the biggest field of the year play in lovely sunny and warm conditions. On top of the pile with an impressive nett 66 was Sally Anderson whose handicap has now fallen and sits at 13, some four shots lower than it was at the start of the season. In second place was Jamie Tompkins with nett 67 and third place went to John Griffiths who pipped Will Rowlinson on the back nine, both scored nett 68's.

Seniors Team News

Truly worried about the thunderstorms forecast and with contingency plans duly in place, the seniors' team enjoyed a dry but grey day last Thursday and saw off the challenge of visitors Bowood in a thoroughly enjoyable friendly match.

Clevedon members also managed a win away at Chipping Sodbury in the Fourball Betterball Open event. Mike Leatt and Jon Day finished top of the field comprising of 86 pairs. Mike and Jon scored 43 points with a three quarter handicap allowance. Well played Mike and Jon.

Ladies' Competition News

The ladies 'B' team defeated Long Ashton 'B' last Friday by a scoreline of 8 points to 6 in wet conditions. This was a great result as Long Ashton are top of the division and they have only lost to one other club previously. The team consisted of Sue Bamford, Rosemary Fife, Sarah Martin, Marian Crewe, Alison Lee, Sue Tasker and Sandy Hill.

The ladies EG Medal & Granny Goblet was played in atrocious conditions on Wednesday. Tracy Buckland scored a marvellous 68 which sees her handicap drop to 33. Well played Tracy. The Granny Goblet was won by Sue Bamford in her first year of being eligible to enter.
