Ladies Captain's Day
The ladies enjoyed the sunny conditions for Elaine's Captain's Day. Sarah Martin, June Mills and Tracy Buckland won the Texas Scramble event with an impressive nett 65, they were one clear of Rosemary Fife, Laureen Angell and Val Trounce. Elaine also had a silent auction for several different items, she raised £170 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Ladies 'A' Team
The ladies 'A' team won their match against Long Ashton 'A' last Friday by eight points to six. That was a great result as Long Ashton have previously only lost one game and won five.
Members' Memorial Day
We had some great weather for a day of fun activities, BBQ, music and of course some golf! Elvis even turned up later in the day! The day was a great success raising over £2,000 for charity.
The scoring in the golf was extremely close with just four points separating the top four teams. Top of the pile while the team comprised of Frazer Tompkins, Jim Cunning, Jamie Osment and Steve Goss. Second place went to Alan Thorne, David Wilmot, David Young and David Barker.
Seniors' Club Championship
Monday saw the Seniors' Club Championship get underway in the pouring rain, conditions improved throughout the course of the morning which enabled some good scoring. The gross championship went into a play-off between Reg Wiles and Steve Brown. The four hole play-off was played over holes 11, 18, 1 and 2. At the culmination of the play-off Steve Brown was announced as the 2015 Seniors Club Champion, well played and congratulations to Steve. The nett championship was taken by John Mays with a nett 69, congratulations to John too.
Club Mid-week Stableford
Tuesday's stableford event saw 61 players compete in lovely summer conditions. George Cawse led the way with 41 points, this pipped Gary Atkinson and Tim Reynolds into second and third place respectively. Gary and Tim also scored 41 points but George's back nine haul of 22 points took him to the top.
