Senior Mixed Open

The Senior Mixed Open on Sunday saw some decent weather and even better scoring. The overall winners were the ever popular home pairing of Sue and Tim Liddeatt with a whopping 45 points. Tim obviously listened for a change. In second place was Mark and Carole D'Ammassa (second prize this week for Carole) on 42 points followed by visitors Geoff and Karen Anderson.

Saturday's event was played in pretty poor weather, the earlier starters definitely had the best of the weather as the afternoon was a very wet and windy affair! Despite the weather some great scores were returned, notably from Martin Reid and Gary Atkinson who both returned nett 69's. Other notable scores included young Oliver Hayden who returned a nett 70 and Mike Morfitt who also returned the same score. Full results were as follows:

Division One - First place - Martin Reid (Nett 69), second place - Peter Horlock (Nett 71) and in third place - Brian Mitchard (Nett 71).
Division Two - First place - Gary Atkinson (Nett 69), second place - Mike Morfitt (Nett 70) and in third place - Simon Preece (Nett 72).
Division Three - First place - Oliver Hayden (Nett 70), second place - Alan Wild (Nett 73) and in third place - Adrian Dugmore (Nett 74).

Only five twos were recorded and as such each lucky player receives £35.60 for their two.

 

Ladies Captain's Day

Ladies Captain's Day proved to be a resounding success with a large turnout for a Texas Scramble format. The event had an Olympic theme with many of the ladies sporting fancy dress and there were even a few golf medals flying about. Ladies Captain Lesley Wicking was rewarded with fine weather for a big day on her calendar.

The overall winners were Molly Hocking, Caroline Fairhurst and Carole D'Ammassa. In second place were Linda Reynolds, Susie Gibbins and new member Alison Hodgson. Third place went to Sue Liddeatt, Judy Olsen and Sally Anderson.
