Junior Team
The junior team travelled to Chipping Sodbury and played great golf against a strong home side, playing in his first game for the club Tom Hayden got a great half up the last to keep the game tied and the points were shared. The juniors also played at home against a strong Knowle team on a stunning afternoon, the course in excellent condition and it brought out the best in golf from both teams. After 10 holes Clevedon were down in four of their five matches, but after positive encourage from their team coach, they dug in on the back eight holes eventually winning the match 4-1 with many of the games going to the 17th and 18th holes. This moves Clevedon up to third in the league with a game in hand on many of their rivals. Next match is away to Long Ashton which will be tough and after that a semi-final knockout match at home to Lansdown in the Inter-league Foursomes Trophy. Keep it going juniors!

Charlotte Millington has been selected in the Somerset team to play in the South West inter counties matches in August at Cumberwell Park.
Club Nine Hole Stableford
A slightly larger field competed for the second running of a nine hole event. Top score overall came from Tony Brown with 19 points, Tony recently had a custom fitting and as such is now using irons suited to his individual game, he's also had a few lessons to tune up various parts of his game. Keep up the good work Tony. Second overall was Ian Saynor with 17 points. The nine hole events will run regularly on the Thursday with no need to book, just roll-up and give it a try.
Ladies Tradesman's Bowl - Round One
The first of two aggregate rounds for The Tradesman's Bowl took place last Thursday. Top spot going into the second round is held by Marian Crewe and Sue Tasker, both scoring 73's and June Mills is hot on their heels with a 74. The second round takes place this Thursday, good luck to all taking part.
Heroic Henrik
The golf world has run out of superlatives for Henrik Stenson, who claimed his first Major title at Royal Troon last weekend - what a final round we were treated to. Has there ever been a more impressive final round in Open Championship history?
Both the Swede and 2013 Open champion, Phil Mickelson carded 63s around the famous links, but it was Stenson - who shot his 63 on Sunday - who prevailed, despite the American posting a hugely impressive 65.
On any other day, Mickelson would have been celebrating his sixth Major. To put their scoring into perspective, Mickelson (-17) finished three shots shy of Stenson but 11 clear of JB Holmes in solo third.
It was a two-horse race for the Claret Jug before they teed off on Sunday, but few people could have expected them to surge further clear in the manner they did. If you've been on holiday and haven't checked out the highlights yet, be sure to do so, it was something else.
Hopefully that's got the juices flowing for many of you to get out and play, no doubt these two super pros have inspired many young golf fans watching on, it really was sport at its very best.
So, three down, one to go… that's the PGA Championship next week.
Throw in the Olympics and the Ryder Cup and there's still a lot of fantastic golf to look forward to. If they're half as entertaining as events at Royal Troon, we're in for a treat.
If you have been inspired to get out and improve your game during this weekends action then get in touch here and we can book a session in to help you on your way.
This week is meant to be superb so come down and enjoy the sunshine.
