Captain's Day

188 players competed in decent conditions on Saturday. The competition was played as a modified Bowmaker event called 'Lone Ranger with extra points available for hitting the simulated green after the round'. Prizes were awarded to the top six teams along with various nearest the pin and longest drive prizes. Results were as follows:

First place - Richard Skuse, Peter Rendle, Rob Smith and Roger Gazzard - 99 points, second place - Rob Milne, Simon Gill, Chris Shipway and Chris Lawton - 98 points (B9), third place - Jason Wallace, Andrew Selwyn, Harrison Selwyn and Michael Kemp - 98 points, fourth place - Paul Middleton, Martin Parker, Paul Smith and Mike Parker - 97 points (B6), fifth place - Simon Wheeler, Andrew Martin, Iwan Bourton and Steve James - 97 points and in sixth place - John Walker, Barry Mulholland, Clive Wheeler and Steve Thomas - 96 Points (B9).

Nearest to the pin on the 4th hole - Men - Bob Anderson and Ladies - Carol Kirkwood. Nearest to the pin on the 11th hole - Men -Paul Haslett and Ladies - Carol Kirkwood. Nearest to the pin on the 13th hole - Men - Mike Sach and Ladies - Tracy Buckland. Longest drive - Men 5th Hole - Richard Ponsford. Longest Drive Ladies 12th Hole - Laureen Angell. Simulator nearest to the pin - Tim Beer. Twos Sweep - 12 twos = £29 per two.

Club Mid-week Stableford

Division One - First place - Josh White (40 points), second place - Mark Hodges (39 points) and in third place - George Cawse (39 points).
Division Two - First place - Tim Reynolds (39 points) and in second place - Peter Williams (29 points).

Four people shared the Twos Sweep with each player receiving £14 each.

Seniors' Veterans' Challenge

Division One - First place - Stephen Kilby (40 points), second place - David Steele (38 points) and in third place - Richard Smith (37 points).
Division Two - First place - David Brown (38 points), second place - Andy Beech (37 points) and in third place - Paul Middleton (35 points).

There were two lucky winners in the Twos Sweep receiving £21 each.

Club Nine Hole Stableford

Last week also saw the inaugural running of a nine hole stableford. These events will continue on a weekly basis being played every Thursday on a roll-up basis. This week's results were as follows:

Division One- First place - Clive Bourton (20 points).
Division Two - First place - Paul Standeven (18 points).

 

Ladies Invitation Day

Some great scores were returned last Wednesday in this event. Top of the pile was Alison Lee and her partner Christine Christie, they scored an impressive 45 points for a two point victory from Sue Tasker and her partner Liz Stevens. Susie Gibbins and Sue Gibson came in third with 42 points. There was three twos recorded so each pair received a nice sparkly score card holder.

Ladies 'A' Team

The 'A' team had a brilliant win at home against Henbury 'B', winning five of the seven matches. Three of the matches were won on the 18th, so it was very exciting and a bit nerve racking watching the putts go in! Well done to the team of Debbie Quinn-Hall, Merriel Horler, Sandra Jones, Sally Anderson, Ruth Steele, Heather Priestley and Sue Bamford.
