Sunday saw thirty junior golfers from across the region take part in the Junior Open. The best stableford score on the day was by home player Charlotte Millington who scored an impressive 42 points. Another home player, Charlie Goss, was pipped for the Division One spoils on a countback to the last three holes. The scratch event was also a close affair which saw yet another home player, Alex Reynolds, also pipped on a countback.
Result
The Midweek Stableford took place in very windy conditions on Tuesday, Dan Hayward tamed the conditions with an impressive 37 points, second was Jon Parker on 36 points.
Mail on Sunday
The ladies won their fifth round match in the "Mail on Sunday" which was at home against Pontypridd. They won three of the games, halved one and one was lost on the 18th hole. This is a great achievement and the ladies now await to hear their next opponents for round six. The competition covers clubs from across the whole of the UK, so the further they progress in the competition the further away their opponents will be. The photo is the team that defeated Pontypridd, other ladies have been involved in previous rounds however. Well done to all players that have taken part, keep it going!
Ladies Stableford
The Ladies Stableford on Wednesday was won overall by June Mills with and impressive haul of 40 points in bright but blustery conditions. Division One was won by Carol Kirkwood with 37 points, Division Two was won by Avril Thomas on 33 points.
The Seniors enjoyed an excellent 'overnighter' at Sandford Springs Hotel & Golf Club. The courses were in good order and the accommodation and food were first class, definitely somewhere they would recommend to other groups
This was followed by a narrow win at home against our old friends from Saltford. A birdie on the last from Alan Stewart maintaining our 100% home record thus far this season.
