Welcome to the second instalment of our pro shop newsletter. We have had such a fantastic and positive response to the new newsletter and website which we launched last week. We are pleased that so many of you have either spoken to me and the team in the shop or sent me an email. That really is the aim of this weekly communication, to inform and to encourage more golfers to talk to us about their game and how they would like to improve. Have you set your aims for the year? If so let us help you achieve them and make 2015 a fantastic golfing year. Click here and tell us what you'd like to achieve be it more consistency, lower your handicap or just to beat your golfing partner.
For those of you that might have missed our email last week, we'd like to tell you a little more about my new email and website. We have spent a lot of time putting together this website and you will find videos on the latest golf equipment, instructional tips and videos, contact forms to keep in touch and information on the promotions that we have running in my shop. But we also want to feature you! So if you have any news be it a hole in one, birth of a son or granddaughter, a testimonial on how great your new driver or electric trolley is we want to know and we will be delighted to feature you in our site.
It's been a successful week on the course for many.
The April Medal and Lombard Qualifier was played last Saturday in testing conditions. There were some very good scores considering. The overall event was won Paul Standeven who's nett 69 was good enough to pip Craig Manson and Myles Angell on countback. The Lombard qualifier was won by Craig Manson who's nett score of 69 (gross 74) saw him top of the qualifiers. We are off to Burnham & Berrow on the 11th June for the regional final now!
On Sunday Marian Crewe posted a very steady nett 74 in the Ladies EG Medal, this saw Linda Reynolds beaten into second place by just the one shot.
Tuesday saw some more favourable conditions for the Midweek Stableford. Sam Evans recorded 39 points to triumph by one point over Andrew Spring and Andrew McCall.
On the team front, the 1st Team played their first game of the season here at home on Sunday against Chipping Sodbury. The guys recorded an impressive 5-0 win, a great way to start the season. Well done to them, keep it going.
If any of you fancy a challenge, the Captain and I have put some dates together for this year's Captain and Pro Challenge. At the end of the season there will be a prize for the pair beating us by the most (or losing by the least!). The dates yet to be filled are below:
Friday, 5 June - 2:30pm
Tuesday, 7 July - 2:30pm
Sunday, 9 August - 10:30am
Tuesday, 1 September - 2:30pm.
I've also been asked by Jack Harris to remind everyone that there is still some places available for the Stragglers match at Weston-Super-Mare on the 6th May, pop your name on the list in the entrance hall or click here to contact me.
I'm sure many of you would of been glued to your televisions like me over the weekend watching the Masters Tournament unfold. Many of you wiill know we ran a masters sweepstake in the pro shop which saw Colin Simpson as the lucky man who drew Jordan Spieth, well done to Colin.
From time to time you will see graphics and content in our email and website relating to Click and Collect. This is a website where you can buy golf equipment. It helps us to expand our product range that we are able to offer you.
If we don't stock it here in our shop and it's available on the Click and Collect website, then you can pay for the product and have it delivered to our shop free of charge. If there are any problems with the item purchased you can return it to me and we can send it back, again without charge.
