Welcome to the latest edition of our weekly newsletter. In this week's email, we explore how often you hit the fairway compared to tour pros, we review how Justin Thomas was this season's best golfer, and we also have a video from a European Tour favourite. Enjoy the read.

Club Finals Day - Sunday, 1 October 2017

This Sunday will see the culmination of all of the Knockout events that have been running throughout the year. Why not come to the club and support all of the finalist that have battled hard all year to reach their respective finals? The first games in the morning start at 9:00am and the afternoon session will get under way at 1:00pm.

October Medal and Master Medaller

Along the Monthly Medal in October we will (as usual) also hold the Master Medaller event for any divisional winners or trophy winners from the past golfing season. A sheet of the qualifiers can be viewed here. 

Club Roll-up Stableford - Saturday, 30 September

This Saturday we will again be running an optional stableford for any players that would like to enter. As a quick reminder the event will be played off the white tees for the men, full handicap will be used and the men need to remember to add one shot to their official handicap due to the difference between par and standard scratch. Also competitors taking part in the stableford are reminded to play in twos or threes.

Club Mid-week Stableford

Division One - First place - Bob Anderson (39 points), second place - Steve Lawrence (39 points) and in third place - Andy McCall (37 points).
Division Two - First place - Peter Williams (30 points), second place - Kevin Lennox (29 points) and in third place - Andy Selwyn (29 points).

Ladies EG Medal and Secretary's Cup

Division One - First place - Heather Priestley (Nett 75), second place - Alison Lee (Nett 75) and in third place - Ruth Steele (Nett 75).
Division Two - First place - Sandra Sharp (Nett 75), second place - Jane Clark (Nett 81) and in third place - Elaine Morgan (Nett 82).
Division Three - First place - Pat Chapman (Nett 74 and Overall Winner), second place - Sue Hughes (Nett 86) and in third place - Eve Childs (Nett 86).

Sue Tasker had the only two of the day and scooped the £21 pot as a result.

Ladies Nine Hole Stableford

First place - Gill Vowles (17 points), second place - Ann Marsh (15 points) and in third place - Sally Brown (14 points).

We can't promise you that...

Since last year’s TOUR Championship, Justin Thomas has conjured up five wins – including his maiden Major victory at the USPGA – and seven other top 10 finishes; results that have seen him rise up to fourth in the World Golf Rankings while cementing himself as one of golf’s brightest stars. 

These performances, culminating in a runner-up finish in last week's season-ending TOUR Championship, saw Thomas take the top spot in the FedEx Cup (the PGA Tour’s OOM) and the juicy $10 million bonus that goes along with that.
