Captain and Pro Challenge 2017
The Captain and I now have dates in the diary for the 2017 edition of the Captain and Pro Challenge. There is a small fee of £10 per player, of which some of the money will go into the Captain's Charity for the year and some will go towards a day away for the pair losing by the least (or winning by the most). Dates are as follows:

- Friday, 19 May.
- Friday, 30 June.
- Friday, 14 July.
- Friday, 28 July.
- Friday, 11 August.
- Friday, 25 August.
- Thursday, 31 August.
- Friday, 29 September.
All the games will kick off at 2:30pm, so pop into the shop or pop your name on the board outside the shop.
Seniors' Bowmaker Waltz
First place - Ron Angell, Gordon Ogden and Bernard Druce - 87 points, second place - Paul Smith, John Benjamin and Sandy Kemlo - 80 points and in third place - Chris Bellamy, Brian Smith and Paul Jeffrey - 79 points.
There were no twos recorded this week so the pot will roll over to the next event which is the Texas Scramble on Thursday, 16 February

Each month we run a poll on our website which is focused around the hottest topics in the golfing world. In January we asked you to cast your vote as to who you think will end 2017 as the World Number one. We were expecting a close contest between Day, Dustin and McIlroy to name but a few, but this was far from what we got. In the end Rory McIlroy was your overwhelming favourite to end 2017 as the world’s best player with 48% of the vote – that’s nearly three times as much as second-placed Dustin Johnson!
