Autumn/Winter Stock

I mentioned in last week's newsletter that autumn/winter stock has been arriving in readiness for cooler conditions. As such, the feel of the shop has changed somewhat. FootJoy have a range of layering options all the way from base layers to shirts then onto top layer options of chillouts and lined sweaters to keep the wind out. A full range of waterproofs is also now available. Under Armour have similar garments so you can layer up to stay warm without affecting movement and thus making winter golf easier and more enjoyable. Glenmuir club crested sweaters have also arrived (with a slightly tweaked crest for post 125th Anniversary) for men and ladies. The ladies also have some winter fleece lined trousers from Glenmuir. Another great way to stay warm and comfortable when the temperatures drop, which inevitably will happen!

   

 

Broadchurch Cup

The second leg of the Broadchurch Cup took place on Saturday. A very wet morning greeted the 28 competitors that travelled to Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club, after a small delay the golf got underway and we were treated to warm and remarkably still conditions. The members of Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club looked after us impeccably, so many thanks go to them.

Over the two leg event I'm pleased to announce that Clevedon won the event and as such will host next year's event, to be held on Saturday, 20 May 2017.

Ladies 'A' Team

Ladies 'A' team had a great win away to Wells, winning nine points to five. Unfortunately, this was not enough for them to go up as Champions, but they do remain second in the division. We await the result of the match between Henbury & Lansdown on Thursday, 29 September to find out whether they still remain second and get promoted, or drop down to third in the league. Either way, the A team have done brilliantly this year and I am sure you will join me in congratulating them.
