Seniors/Ladies Mixed Greensomes
The annual Clevedon Seniors/Ladies Mixed Greensomes competition was played this week in glorious Spring sunshine. The field of 36 members enjoyed a great morning of golf and the scores certainly reflected that. In third place with 40 points was Ron Angell and Jane Clark, second place went to Mike Venables and Elaine Morgan with 41 points but the winners with an excellent score of 43 points were Seniors Captain Les Holmes and Ladies Captain Lesley Wicking.
Ladies Foursomes and Australian Spoons
Another pleasant day greeted the ladies on Wednesday for their Foursomes competition. This event was also designated as an 'Australian Spoons' qualifying event. Top billing goes to Caroline Fairhurst and Linda Reynolds with 39 points. Very well played ladies. Maria Saynor and Tracy Buckland came home in second place with 37 points and Juliet Hagley and Heather Bleach took third place with 36 points. Entries for the 'Australian Spoons' stay open now until mid-June.
Spring/summer clothing
If you hadn't already noticed, Spring/Summer clothing has arrived. True, we might not be reaching for the factor 30 just yet, but hopefully it won't be long.
Every year we look forward to receiving the new collections, and we have is a fantastic selection of styles to suit all tastes this season. Do pop by to have a browse, even if the weather's still got more Autumn/Winter about it.
For the lucky ones out there, escaping for an Easter golfing break - perhaps the Algarve or somewhere even hotter - the arrival of Spring/Summer clothing is just perfect time - and where better place to do your holiday clothes shop, as opposed to the airport? These garments are designed specifically for golf to help you perform, and look good, of course.
