My First Anniversary Approaches
Wow, it seems unbelievable but on Monday, I will have been here at Clevedon Golf Club for one year! It's absolutely flown by, I have had an amazing time and have been welcomed so warmly which has only added to the experience (so far). The feedback myself and the pro shop team have received has been hugely positive so hopefully we're doing the right things. As well as continuing the things we've been doing so far there's also lots of new projects on the horizon as the second year begins. Keep an eye on those inboxes and my website for news as it happens. Thanks once again for everyone's support and best wishes.
Lady Captain's Fun Competition
Wednesday saw bright but chilly conditions for Lesley's fun Texas Scramble. 11 teams competed over the front 10 holes in a scramble with a twist added by Lesley. Top spot went to Heather Bleach, Juliet Hagley and Jane Clark with a nett score of 37.8, they were followed closely by Sally Anderson, Vicki Sach and Sandra Sharp on 38.5, third place was the team of Christine Anderson, Laureen Angell and Carol Kirkwood on 39.9.
Improving your golf for the season ahead...
From time to time we like to share some coaching tips through our newsletters in an effort to help you lower your scores. This week you'll see we're offering some advice on how to effectively escape wet sand - which is somewhat topical, unfortunately.
Being able to adjust to the wintry conditions is a real skill, whether that's playing the ball a little further back in your stance to keep the ball underneath the wind, or adjusting your technique to escape wet sand (below) - so we hope you find these articles useful.
Of course, some one-on-one coaching may be what you need, as we appreciate that putting these tips into practice isn't always that easy, even if they make perfect sense.
We hope you're enjoying your golf no matter what the weather is throwing at you, but do come and see us, or make an enquiry here, if you'd like some assistance. In the meantime, give the tip below a try and next time you end up bunkered in the wet sand, you might not get such a sinking feeling.
